Are you fed up with dangerous fad diets? I sure am and with my experience as a Registered Dietitian I know firsthand how susceptible you can be to the false claims that fad diets make. I am here to teach you how to instantly recognize the 3 keys to a dangerous fad diet.

It should be a criminal offense in regards to what some of the fad diets do to your metabolism. Yes, they help you lose weight fast, initially. But they can absolutely destroy a person’s metabolism and cause them to gain much more weight back.

I believe in a much more sensible approach to help youlose weight fast. You don’t need a dangerous fad diet to lose weight fast. You can achieve rapid fat loss in a very safe and healthy manner when the correct approach is taken.

The following are my top three keys for instantly recognizing a dangerous fad diet:

One Ingredient Diets:

Any diet that preaches eating only one ingredient - such as ice cream or grapefruit - for an extended period of time can be classified immediately as a dangerous fad diet. There are dozens of these types of diets on the market.

Another problem with a fad diet is that fad diets are generally low on overall calories and deficient of important nutrients needed for weight loss. What many fad diets do is focus on 1 nutrient as the potential key to weight loss and in reality all they are doing is severely restricting your calories to see weight loss.

Once you have met your weight loss goal and are no longer following the fad diet where do you go from there? Most people revert back to their old ways of eating and the weight comes right back on. Many times the weight gain is much worse than where you started.

Fasting:

Avoid any “lose weight fast” program that suggests you “fast” for an extended period of time. Very simply, not eating will wreak havoc on your metabolism. If you are looking to lose weight fast then not eating is potentially the worst thing you can do. Fasting causes your body to increase a hormone called lipoprotein lipase. Many call this a “starvation” hormone because when this hormone is elevated your body will adjust how it uses the calories you eat.

Your body will start to store more of the calories you eat as fat calories when this hormone is elevated. It does this to protect itself and to make sure it has enough calories in reserve when it needs them. Fad diets that encourage you to fast or severely restrict calories will generally cause an increase in this “starvation” hormone.

Miraculous Claims:

Use your common sense when investigating a fad diet. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Please don’t fall for the amazing claims of miraculous weight loss. Weight loss isn’t hard, but it does take some effort and work. I recommend enlisting the advice of a qualified nutritionist or health professional when attempting to lose weight fast

Check Out How to Get Your Huge Discounts!

It is the same old story.  You have tried to lose weight both with drugs and with herbs.  Nothing worked.  And now you wonder if there is something that will help you lose weight.

If you are looking to lose quite a bit of weight, than you will need to be on an appetite suppressant for a sustained period of time.  There are many reasons people want to lose weight.  Maybe an upcoming wedding or the fact that summer is just around the corner and that cute bikini is just waiting to be scooped up by you.

Whatever the reason you want to lose weight, you will need to do so in a healthy and safe way.  That means sticking to high fiber foods and increased water intake.  Your stomach is kept full and you don’t have that feeling of hunger which causes the brain to think it is time to eat.

A “full” stomach will keep you from overeating

So how can you get that “full”  feeling without eating a lot of calories?  There are two of the best appetite suppressants available on the market, which are high in fiber; they are Proactol and Acai berries.  Eating a lot of fruits, vegetables and whole grains keeps our digestion and circulation in peak performance.  They do come with a lot of calories if we have a tendency to overeat them.

Acai berries come from Brazil.  They are high in antioxidants and are very rich in fiber.  Fast satisfaction is gained when eating these berries.

Lipobind is a certified medical product.  It works on the same principle as Acai berries by controlling your cravings and making your stomach expand, allowing that full feeling.

Another effective product is 5-HTP which increases serotonin in the brain.  This decreases your appetite and elevates your mood.

Most individuals find the best results using hoodia but as with any other product you must make sure you get high the highest quality like for example UniqueHoodia.

When using any appetite suppressant, you will need to be careful not to use too much so that your appetite really is affected and you are not able to eat a lot.  This can cause malnutrition and a host of other physical ills.

If you choose not to use appetite suppressants, you still can lose weight by limiting your calorie intake and engaging in physical activities you enjoy.  But if you find that even with a strict diet and exercise routine, you still are having a hard time losing weight, the next step is to consult your physician who in turn will point you in the right direction.

Adopting a healthy lifestyle is all important and if takes an appetite suppressant to do so, than with your physician’s blessing, decide on the best one for you.

Do you find that there are times when you eat a ton of food? Do you eat this amount of food at times when you are feeling stress or anxiety of some kind? And is this eating often done when you are alone? If so, you can be suffering from binge eating.

Identifying your problem with binge eating, finding the trigger points that cause you to binge eat and coming up with strategies to fight the urge to binge can help you break the cycle of binge eating.

Is Binging a Problem?

A binge eater doesn’t just eat an extra helping at dinner or an extra piece of pizza at lunch. A binge eater eats an entire pizza when no one is looking or spends an evening alone consuming half a loaf of bread and peanut butter and two bags of chips. The amount of food a binge eater is in excess. People who are binge eaters are either obese or are bulimic.

Binging and Purging

Often a binge eater will go on a binge, eating an incredible amount of food in a short period of time. During the binge you may find that you feel comforted, but immediately after the binge you are hit with feelings of guilt and shame. This causes many binge eaters to purge forcing themselves to vomit.

The purging may actually seem like a quick fix to the binging problem, but the guilt and shame don’t go away after the food has left your body. If you binge and purge you are trapped in a cycle of emotional pain. Finding out why you binge is the key to stopping this cycle.

Why Do You Binge?

You may find that you binge eat when you are upset or are trying not to think about unpleasant things. Binge eating is often a reaction for people who are trying to repress unpleasant feelings. Binge eating is a way of avoiding emotional issues. By eating an unusually large amount of food you attempt to seek comfort from pain you don’t want to face. The first step to stopping the binge eating is to come face-to-face with the reason for the emotional pain.

Naming your emotional pain will give you power over your desire to binge eat. You may find that this will be easier if you talk with a professional who can guide you through the steps to emotional recovery. Whether you have experienced abuse in your childhood or a trauma in your life, some emotional problems are too big to fix on your own.

You may find that you binge as a way of relieving stress. Or you may find that you binge because you have a difficult time expressing anger. Once you find your trigger for binging you can step toward recovery.

Need extra help to stop your Binge Eating?

Once you have identified just why you binge eat, you will be able to address your problem in a more focused way by taking an appetite suppressant. Figuring out why you binge eat is the first step but there will always be those hard moments you will fall back into your old habits. To replace those habits with new ones, ones that will make you able to control the urge to eat out of control is very important to make a long term change, and taking an appetite suppressant like Proactol or Uniquehoodia can very well be the key to solving your binge eating problem once and for all.

If you are getting ready to start a new diet, make sure you avoid the three most common diet attitudes sure to sabotage your chances of success. Your frame of mind, going into a diet is more important than what you put or don’t put into your mouth. So beware of the following bad diet attitudes:

Reach for the Stars and Win at All Cost Attitude

Dieters who go gung ho into a new diet that is incredibly restrictive, with an attitude that they need to win at all cost, are setting themselves up for diet disaster. Don’t expect to be a perfect dieter.

You need to acknowledge that your diet is a lifestyle change and that there will be slip-ups along the way. If you leave no room for mistake then you will be crushed when temptation strikes and you cheat on your diet. Dieters that don’t allow any bending in their diet rules often give up their diet in disappointment the moment they cave.

You also want to make sure that your diet isn’t asking the impossible. Don’t starve yourself and don’t eat ridiculous combinations of food just to lose weight. Find a healthy diet and allow yourself to be human and you are more likely to see diet success.

The ‘Give up Everything’ Attitude

The dieter with the ‘give up everything’ attitude sacrifices every food that they enjoy so that they can lose weight. You need to be realistic in what you allow yourself to eat. Will you go the rest of your life never eating a treat now and then? You need to find moderation in your diet and allow yourself to enjoy your favourites once in a while. If not, the moment you cave and enjoy your favourite treat you’re more likely to throw the whole diet out the window and go on a binge.

When you do allow yourself to indulge with your favourite food, try to portion size. Eat smaller portions and you can still enjoy without destroying your diet.

The Unachievable Goal Attitude

Set an achievable goal and give yourself a healthy period of time to reach it. You don’t want to say that you’re going to lose 50 pounds in a month or 10 pounds this weekend. Weight loss should be at a healthy pace.

A healthy weight loss is considered to be about 2 pounds a week at first, and then only 1 pound. So set a goal that is realistic, and don’t beat yourself up if the pounds are coming off slower than planned. The important thing is that you make healthy changes to your diet and your exercise and that you become a healthier, ultimately happier person.
